Gnawnu is a design project rooted in a domestic crime. In May 2025 a dog named Nanu arrives, and every sock in the house develops a hole. Same spot, every time. How he gets into the drawer remains unsolved. The founder wears holed socks to work for a year. The fix was not a better dog toy. It was a better sock: ribbed on the outside so it feels real, cut-resistant underneath so the crime is never finished, a rope through the calf so it has a leg, a squeaker in the toe because that was always the part he wanted.
